Sonia Slany

A Graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, Sonia Slany works as a session musician, performer, producer, and composer. Sonia worked as session violinist for Isobel Griffiths for nearly two decades, contributing to her film soundtrack work and recordings. In addition to violin, Sonia plays the monochord and has been featured on “Lord of the Rings,” “Hunger Games,” and “Skyfall.” She has written and arranged for bands such as The Cranberries, Mark Knopfler, Teenage Fanclub, The SuperFurry Animals, Boy George, and Bjork with tracks recorded by her group Electra Strings. Together with husband Paul Clarvis, Sonia records acoustic music of all genres at the label Village Life. She believes in the healing power of music.
